MHA’s Principal Chief Controller of Accounts inaugurates Home Department offices in Jammu | KNO

New Delhi, Jan 17 (KNO): Principal Chief Controller of Accounts Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Dr Ajay Shanker Singh virtually inaugurated the newly established offices of the Home Department in Jammu and Kashmir. A PIB statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) read: “Dr Singh inaugurated the offices of Controller of Accounts, Deputy Controller of Accounts (DCA) and Pay and Accounts Office (PAO) of the Jammu & Kashmir Home Department at Jammu under the Departmental Accounting Organisation (DAO), Ministry of Home Affairs.” “The inauguration marks the formal operationalisation of the CA, DCA and PAO offices under DAO, MHA, Jammu, which have been functioning since September 2024. The establishment of these offices is a significant step towards strengthening the accounting and financial management framework of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir,” the statement said. The virtual inauguration, according to the statement, was attended by the Chief Controller of Accounts (CCA), Pankaj Sharma; Controller of Accounts (CA), N.P. Singh; Deputy Controller of Accounts, Hridesh Patel and V. Muthu Kumar. The event at Jammu was hosted by Controller of Accounts (CA), Shakeel Maqbool; Deputy Controller of Accounts (DCA), Lovepreet Kour; and Senior Accounts Officer (Sr. AO), Dalip Kumar Bhat, along with officers and staff of RPAO BSF, RPAO CRPF, PAOs of the J&K Home Department, Srinagar, and representatives of Internal Audit Parties (IAPs), the statement said. It said the establishment of the CA/DCA/PAO offices is expected to facilitate effective financial management, ensure timely accounting and payment functions, and enhance transparency and efficiency in financial operations of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the Union Territory. The inaugural ceremony was followed by a review meeting chaired by the Controller of Accounts, J&K Home Department, with PAOs, RPAOs and IAPs located in Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on coordination and strengthening of accounting and audit processes, the statement added—(KNO)
